Vision 2017

A river of hope and healing through Spirit-led generosity in Dillsburg and partner communities around the world. “Out of the believer’s heart shall flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:38, NRSV)

We will incarnate God’s generosity by:

  • A generous walk
We will seek a new congregational emphasis on listening, praying, waiting, and acting in step with the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
  • A generous welcome
We will intentionally extend a generous welcome to all people with an evident spirit of humility, kindness, compassion, and grace.
  • A generous witness
We will communicate the hope we have in Jesus to the people of Dillsburg and across cultures by building friendships with people who do not yet know Jesus, and by serving through specific projects of compassionate care.
  • Generous worship
We will expand our perspectives on worship and invite the Holy Spirit to help us imagine ways to enable believers of different generations and worship traditions to joyfully offer themselves to God.

We will share God’s generosity in service by:

  • Growing a vital healing prayer ministry, to offer hope and healing to wounded people in the church and community.
  • Calling and equipping people as they are gifted by God’s Spirit to lead the church forward in following Jesus Christ and in sharing the Gospel.
  • Providing a vibrant ministry in our community to children and youth. This includes the provision of necessary space in order to accommodate this growing ministry.
  • Collaborating with community organizations for service and outreach to the people of Dillsburg and the surrounding area.
  • Cultivating cross-cultural ministry partnerships in projects of compassionate care with communities of believers outside of our region where DBIC members will be involved.
  • Continuing to increase our financial support to mission and outreach ministries as led by the Holy Spirit.
